Practice Curiosity

They say curiosity killed the cat, but when collaborating, it is a lack of curiosity that kills. The question is, how do we encourage collaborators to do less of “I think what needs to happen is…” – and more of “Tell me more about that…”

We tend not to be good at listening to and exploring the positions of others so our meetings and workshops can become exercises in winning the debate rather than learning together.

Our Power of Co Collaboration System includes a simple tool designed to help people do less talking and more listening, exploring and learning. As always, it isn’t a magic solution, but provides meeting participants with a way to change the conversation from tell to ask. Download it free here and try it at your next meeting. It may be simple, but more curiosity will make a big difference to your work.
